Three things that I like
about the article are:
1. The need to shift
from traditional assessment to alternative assessment. We are now in the 21st
century and the ways of learning now and then is different. This article shows
why we should change the ways of teaching, for instance 'streaming' that is
used in school will diverse students population.
2. The differences
between traditional and alternative assessment. Traditional assessment required
students to memorize the knowledge and the process of learning is separated
from the final outcomes that represent students' learning. Meanwhile,
alternative method construct students' ability and the process of learning is
ongoing.
3. The implication, use
of rubrics as a guidelines for scoring score. Rubrics helps teacher to give
score and it can be helpful for students as they can use it as guide
to achieve a particular score.
